Bulkhead repair......ive put this off long enough. - SailNet Community

Ive been putting this important discharge off for about a year now. Ive got to fix up my bulkhead where the chainplates mount. The trammel plates leaked protracted before i got the runabout and the PO never did anything to thwart the seepage. I did seal the holes in the deck with 5200(yes, i understand bad suggestion). That worked for awile, but seems to have been leaking again. Well today wile cleaning up i noticed the chainplate has moved, so its now patch to do this draw up. I started digging into the bulkhead, and its gone. In the see in the mind's eye you see the investment plate for the 3 tie cut bars. Where the formica is ripped off is where the most of the rot is. Im conclusion i can cut out the rotted section all the way to the pod and supersede hardly that part since theres no way i can make good on the whole bulkhead. I imagine i will use 1'' plywood(assets c incriminating evidence rise) and seal it with epoxy .I can tab it to the shuck moral like it is now and tab it to the hand over part of old bulkhead. The job is noteworthy but not insurmountable....
